Our Promotions team takes the vision of the A&R department and, with Marketing, determines how we tell the world about our music. The Promotions team needs to have an encyclopedic knowledge of our Artists and work as required to deliver optimum results for those Artists and the Company. An important part of metro and regional promotions is reporting back reactions and suggestions from Broadcast media to all relevant parties within our company, as it is important for us to understand the reactions and suggestions people outside of our company have to our music and business.

TV & Radio
Promotions strives to formulate new and innovate ways of strengthening Capitol’s/Virgin’s relationship with Radio and TV, maximising exposure for acts by devising, managing and implementing creative radio and TV campaigns. Examples of national promotion events include lunchtime listening parties and weekend artist airplay.
Artist Relations
In conjunction with Marketing and in liaison with our overseas companies, Artist Relations develop plans to bring our International Artists to Australia at the optimum time to deliver great promotional opportunities and exposure for each Artist and EMI. The types of responsibilities include producing Artist Schedules, accompanying artists on tours and promotional visits, and organising all of the logistics.
Press
ensure optimum print media exposure of our artists and those on licensed / associated labels (both local and international) by initiating, planning and managing creative press campaigns. Press and Artists Relations work together to ascertain artist availabilities, scheduling activity around this with an aim to ensure that the timing of activity gives the artist the best results. Our Press team work to get our music reviewed and spoken about wherever there is an outlet.
